FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State women's basketball coach Adrian Wiggins has announced the signing of junior college guard Ashley Walker to a National Letter of Intent. Walker is a 5-8 guard who has played the last two years at Trinity Valley Community College.

In her sophomore year at Trinity Valley, Walker averaged 10.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 1.3 steals and shot 35 percent from the 3-point line and 36 percent from the field. She earned First-Team All-Conference and All-Region honors. Walker helped lead her team to the NJCAA National Tournament and a 27-7 record.

As a freshman in 2006-07, Walker scored 11.5 points averaged 5.6 rebounds and shot 38.5 percent from beyond the arc. She earned First-Team All-Conference honors and led Trinity Valley to a 25-7 record.

"She will be a defensive stopper and she is a great rebounder," Fresno State coach Adrian Wiggins said. "Beyond that she can shoot the ball well. That is a huge must for us at the guard position. She plays aggressively and has played a lot of basketball at a very established Junior College."
